Kramer Guitars powered glam and hair metal bands back in the '80s, but they're back and better than ever before! The 1984 model nods back to the golden age of high-octane rock, with its modified S-style body shape, powerful Seymour Duncan humbucker and Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo. Its purpose remains the same today as it did over 30 years ago; to cater for players seeking hot-rodded tones and unparalleled playability.
As you'd expect from a classic "superstrat" style guitar, the Kramer 1984 model features an Alder body with a bolt-on Maple neck. The Alder serves as a great tonal foundation for the pickup, with a balanced sound that has plenty of mid-range focus and bite.
Carved to a comfortable slim profile, the 1984's Hard Maple neck has a smooth finish that ensures a slippery feel when you're performing fast scale runs. Adorned with a Maple fingerboard too, the neck delivers a clear top-end snap and gives notes a very immediate response. The 22-fret fingerboard also has a super-flat 12" radius that prevents string bends from fretting out.
Electronics & Hardware
The Kramer 1984 has the bare essentials for superstar performance. Powered by a single Seymour Duncan JB humbucker, the Kramer 1984 is practically made for raunchy overdrive and searing high-gain, with the pickup's famously high-output and potent mid-range. Although there is just a single humbucker, you can engage a coil-tap function by pulling the volume control up, giving you a glassy single-coil sound for angelic cleans.
This guitar wouldn't be an '80s icon without its double-locking Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo system. Letting you perform crazy whammy acrobatics like Mr. Van Halen, this tried-and-tested design ensures excellent tuning stability too.
