The Gibson Flying V is one of the most iconic guitars in the history of metal. It has been around since 1958 and it has inspired countless musicians and other brands to look at different guitar shapes that have a more extreme design with a focus on playability. Now in 2016 it is back once again with a powerful set of hardware ready to once again take over the hard rock and metal world.
The Flying V has been around for a long time now and has gone through so many different versions that pinpointing the best one is very hard to do. One model that is near the top of everyone's list however is the one of the earlier 1950's designs modified with some modern hardware to make sure it can handle the needs of the modern metal player.
That is why this guitar still features the amazing build with a mahogany body and a set mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard that helps keep that warm and full sound that Gibson guitars are well known for.
While some Gibson guitars will come with classic PAF style humbuckers that look to remake the past this guitar is looking toward the future. Fitted with a set of powerful ceramic magnetic pickups designed by Gibson themselves these are perfect for when you want to run through a massive high gain amplifier.
Don't worry though as this guitar can cool down as well. Just play a bit with the volume and tone controls and you have yourself a much cleaner and warmer tone which is perfect for softer blues and rock styles even with this guitar having a more modern look and feel.
Professional Set Up
As part of the 2016 line this guitar has received a premium set up even before it has gone through our QC checks. This means that you can take this guitar out of the box on day one, go straight to your gig and rock up without any issues with the guitar at all.
No longer do you need to wait for a few days while you get your guitar. We all know that you want to get using a new guitar as soon as possible so Gibson have made sure you can do just that.
Need A Case?
This guitar comes with a high quality gigbag but if you do want a case to go with it we do recommend this Gator Extreme option that you can find here. Unfortunately as of December 2015 Gibson are not selling hardcases for this guitar separately.
