The Squier Vintage Modified series has become known for taking Classic fender models and hot rodding them to create stylish modern interpretations that stand on their own two feet as fantastic affordable guitars. This Thinline Tele is no different; Creating a Semi- hollow thinline version with some wide range humbuckers for a distinctive tonal range.
Thinline Semi-hollow Design
This Fender Squier Vintage Modified Tele was designed with a thinline ash body, crafted into the traditional Tele design but with much less weight than the regular solid-body design. The half chambered design includes a distinctive F-hole cut into the top, allowing the wood to resonate with rich warm tones whilst maintaning some of the sustain of its solidbody counterpart. The other benefit of the semihollow design offers low level tone for acoustic playing when not connected to the amp. A great way to practice when loud volumes would be an issue, like in a bedroom or backstage at a gig. The Thinline Semi-hollow Tele is comfortable, lightweight and has a fantastic tone to suit your playing style.
Vintage 72 Configuration
The original Late 60's Thinline Tele featured 2 single coil pickups. However When Fender updated the guitar in '72 they loaded the new generation thinline tele with some gutsy Wide Range humbuckers that not only gave the guitar some power and rich tonal variety, but also made the guitar less susceptible to feedback in a gig environment. For this vintage modified version, Squier chosen a pair of Wide range humbuckers as designed in the '72 Thinline Tele to create the same gutsy and resonant semi-hollow tone. The Humbuckers are controlled with a simple master volume and master tone controls with a 3 position Pickup switch for no-nonsense setup of your signature sound.
Modern Design Features
Although guitarists seem to love the romance and aesthetics of traditional style on their guitars, they can't deny the progress that has been made over years of guitar research and experience. As a result, the Vintage Modified Tele has a number of modern adjustments, so that the feel and playability is up to the demands of the modern performer. This includes the comfortable C shaped neck, which feels so great you may not want to put it down!
