Construction

The T1 features a solid Poplar T-style body for a deep, resonant tone without being too heavy. A Maple neck topped with a 12" radius Rosewood fingerboard feels incredibly comfortable and brings an air of quality that far exceeds its affordable price point.

Electronics

The T1 is loaded with an ECT1 single coil pickup in the neck position and an ECT2 in the bridge for a range of iconic T-style tones. With controls for volume and tone, and a 3-way selector switch, you can go from smooth and mellow to bright and twangy with ease!

Hardware

With traditional appointments from every angle, the T1 looks every bit as good as it sounds. Featuring a classic, fully adjustable three-saddle bridge and sealed, die-cast tuners, the T1 delivers excellent tuning stability and intonation. Learning to play a new instrument is tough enough, without battling to try and keep it in tune all the time. Fortunately, you won't need to worry about this with the T1 so you can spend less time tweaking and more time getting your chops together!

Purchased this guitar to sharpen my guitar maintenance skills When I received it, I was pleasently suprised about it: Fretwork is better than on my Fender Player Tele. Setup out of the box was very good. After I had tuned it to pitch (got it shipped to Vienna in winter, so I assume it's normal for it to be out of tune), I checked the neck relief, action and intonation...everything perfectly fine. Sure the tuners or bridge could be a bit better, but hey: it was 89,- you can't go wrong for that price. Definitely a very good beginner instrument (overall, not only pricewise).

I got fed up with trying to use Variax's for alternative tunings (sounds awful), and decided I needed guitars that were permanently tuned to Open G in 2 variations, Open D Open E, etc. I didn't want to use up many of my existing guitars, and I didn't want to spend a lot. I got 3 East Coast T1s, and they do the job fine. For the money they are excellent. The pickups are not the usual tinny low-output things you normally find in this price range, and the guitars are as good as some I have paid £300-£400 for. They are well set up, within the usual limitations of non-intonated Tele bridge saddles, and play well with a decent action and no buzzes. One of these tuned to Open G sounds infinitely better than a Variax tuning emulation, so object achieved.

Brilliant for the price and a quality budget instrument just the thing for what wanted which was to mod it to fretless.
