Product Description

Morgan brings classy, boutique amp design into the 21st Century. The latest model to join the US brand's incredible lineup is the MVP66 - a KT66-driven amplifier head that delivers huge vintage-inspired sounds with a barking British voice.

Key features include a built-in footswitchable boost function, variable 'Power Level' circuitry and a no-nonsense EQ section that gives you apt control over the amp's sonic characteristics.

KT66 Power Section

The KT66 may be one of the most revered and under-used amp tubes in rock history. Used to power Eric Clapton’s early JTM45, Angus Young’s Blues Breaker and Hendrix’s 100w stacks, one thing is clear - the KT66 simply sounds massive!

Joe Morgan’s MVP66 head is designed with that bold British tone in mind. Think of the thickest sound that can cut through even the densest of mixes, and then imagine being able to turn that raw 50-watts of power down from overwhelmingly loud to a level that's fit for your bedroom and everything in between. That is the Morgan MVP66, in a nutshell.

A Range of Classic Tones

Morgan's MVP66 dishes out the punchy cleans of a Hendrix-y "Castles Made of Sand" tone at lower gain settings all the way through to the crunchy, high-headroom Angus overdrive of "It’s A Long Way To The Top". The heart of guitar tone is mid-range afterall, and the MVP66 provides clear mid-heavy tones that are never too harsh or overbearing – they always sit perfectly in the mix, regardless of where the tone controls are set.

'Power Level' Circuitry

The MVP66 is controlled with Morgan’s signature 'Power Level' circuitry. This affects the amount of voltage that is sent to the power tubes, which adjusts the total level of amplification.  Dialling the 'Power' control can drop the amplifier’s output down to as little as 1-watt, and as high as 50-watts! Use this ingenious control to set the overall volume of the amp – keeping the sound guy happy without having to sacrifice tone.

Simple EQ Section

The Morgan MVP66 features a bass, treble and middle tone stack, with volume and gain knobs as well as the aforementioned power scaling control. Add some sweet chime to your sound by pulling the gain knob, which engages a bright setting to enhance presence. The boost control on the rear panel can be used to push the front-end and overall level of the amp too, from subtle to drummer-drowning! Ideal for solos, this feature can be activated on-the-fly via the included footswitch.
