Egnater Rebel 30 MKII Head
The original Egnater Rebel 30 was a very popular small guitar amp head that like all Egnater amps had a couple of very cool features. The Rebel 30 Mark II increases the gain in the overdrive channel so you can get meaner and heavier tones and improves the headroom on the clean channel. This makes the amplifier even more versatile and controllable.
Small Amp, Lots Of Tones
While it may not be as modifiable as something like the Egnater Tweaker the Rebel 20 still has an incredible range of tones under the hood. The key to this range comes in the two different gains structures and the ability to blend between sets of 6V6 and EL84 power amp tubes to get the response you want.
With two channels you can access a whole wide range of tones. On the clean channel you just have a simple Volume, Bass, Treble control set up with optional tight and bright switches to refine the tone. With the new Mark II design this channel stays clean even at extremely high volumes making it much easier to gig with.
The overdrive channel has been hot rodded since the last version but it still has an interesting classic 70's style tone. Now with more gain and Egnaters powerful EQ section you can achieve more modern tones even in this small 30w format.
We have all had that situation where we need to record something, or want to practice but we can't do it because the neighbours will complain. The silent recording feature on the Rebel 30 is such an essential feature for those that want to be able to use their amps every hour of the day. Using the emulated XLR you can both take a feed to the front of house live as well as use it for silent recording.
From Club To Bedroom
While 30 watts may not sound like a lot this all valve amp can really push a lot of power out with the right cab. It can work equally as well at home though as you can turn down the power all the was from 20w down to 1w. So no matter even if you have the most annoying of neighbours you will be able to practice without bothering anyway down at 1w.
Here's what Egnater say about the Rebel 30 MkII Amplifier Head
Rebel-30 MKII Head is the next generation of the Rebel 30 with the features you've been asking for. We've upped the gain on channel 2 and given it a more aggressive tone and feel. Channel has even more clean headroom with a lower noise floor. Of course, we've kept the unique Egnater features such as the TUBE MIX knob, giving you access to an incredible variety of tones from American to British and the silent record mode that actually replaces the speaker with an internal load so all the great power tube character is retained. Channel 1 delivers rich cleans with controls for volume, treble and bass. Channel 2 dishes out powerful, touch-responsive overdrive with treble, middle and bass EQ, as well as a wide-range gain knob that takes you from growl to scream. Both channels feature Egnater's signature BRIGHT and TIGHT switches and each channel has its own WATTS knob so you can access both low-wattage crunch and serious clean headroom, or any combination between 1 to 30 watts.
Under the hood you will find the new Elite Transformers with substantially greater headroom and industrial grade red FR4 glass epoxy circuit boards with beefed up copper traces to name just a few of the improvements.
The REBEL-30 MARK II back panel holds more welcome surprises, such as independent REVERB controls for each channel and a tone-preserving series effects loop. The speaker-emulated line out lets you go directly to the board live or in the studio. Set the standby switch to 'Silent Record' for great direct-recorded tones that spare both your ears and your neighbors. A dual-function footswitch for channel selection and reverb on/off is included. Combine the Rebel-30 Head with a pair of Rebel-112x cabs for a perfect mini-stack.
