Rift Amps - Hand-Built in the UK!

Blackface, Brownface & Tweed Circuits

Leo Fender first popularised blackface and tweed circuits in the 1950's. The former has a chimey, full frequency range that won't overdrive until higher volumes, while the latter is more unforgiving and percussive. Brownface bridges the gap between the two. This adds more midrange punch and reigns in highs. Renowned for making gorgeous tremolos.

Channel & Inputs

The Rift Amps Vibro 35 features two channels - normal and bright. The normal channel serves as a great tonal platform for crisp-sounding guitars, with its flatter base tone preventing an overly-piercing top-end. The Bright channel is therefore handles darker humbucker-loaded instruments, compensating for the lack of presence that they tend to have compared to their single-coil counterparts.

Each of these channels has two inputs, made to suit instruments with contrasting input levels. Input one is much like the 'low' input that you may see on similar amps, and is suited for mellow and passive low-output guitars. Input two fairs better with hotter active pickup-loaded instruments, or if you intend to use overdrive, boost or fuzz pedals.

The Vibro 35 takes pedals exceptionally well, despite the lack of an effects loop. It also remains dynamic and responsive to adjustments made on your guitar's volume and tone pots.

Speaker & Cabinet

The Vibro 35 is installed with a pair of Warehouse G10C Ceramic 1x10" speakers. These produce the articulate highs and a smooth mid-range. Classic traits of a vintage Cali amp. The amp's open-back design also gives it an airy and untamed quality. You can mic up the cabinet from the rear to capture a more three-dimensional sound.
