Product Description

Fender has bolstered its best-selling Mustang range with the new GTX modelling amplifiers. Better, bolder and boasting more features than ever before, the Fender GTX series amps are delightfully versatile with a huge selection of built-in amp models, dozens of diverse effects and 200 ready-to-rock presets.

The GTX50 is the smallest model in the GTX range, but still has plenty of firepower with 50-watts of gig-worthy headroom projected through a genuine 12" Celestion G12P-80 speaker.

Flexible Tone Creation

The Fender GTX50 is a mightily intuitive amplifier, which both beginners and seasoned pros can appreciate. With a modular signal path, you can freely move effects around anywhere in the chain for a logical virtual setup, while the crisp full-colour display lets you know exactly what’s going on under the hood.

Bluetooth & TONE 3.0 App

Bluetooth connectivity is another fantastic modern feature up this amp's sleeve. Allowing you to experience the all-new Fender TONE 3.0 (for iOS and Android), this free app offers a realistic look and feel while you tweak the controls on some of the most famous amps and effects ever made.

Fastidious tone-chasers can also deep edit settings via the app, and browse presets from the Fender Tone online community. Built-in Bluetooth also lets you seamlessly stream audio so that you can play along with your favourite tracks. The GTX50’s WiFi capabilities, exclusive to Fender, let you connect for firmware updates too - this amp will only get better!

Celestion Speaker

Considering its impressive feature-set, the Fender Mustang GTX50 provides incredible bang for the buck. And with the redesigned Mustang cabinet, this amplifier is sturdier than its predecessors; making it even more suitable for gigging.

A 12-inch Celestion G12P-80 speaker produces a strong and potent response, ensuring that you'll be heard in even the most frantic of band mixes. And as a whole, the improved amp, speaker and cabinet models guarantee that the Fender Mustang GTX sounds better than almost anything else in its class.

Connectivity

Stereo XLR line outputs are luxuries found on only some of the best premium modelling amplifiers out there, but Fender has equipped the Mustang GTX50 with them despite its attainable price-tag! Letting you interface with PA and recording gear, you can enjoy the GTX50's glorious tones in a full stereo field.

A stereo effects loop is another thoughtful touch not found on most other amps in this price bracket. Letting you use the GTX50's built-in effects with external pedals, the GTX50 is adaptable for almost any player.

An optional seven-button footswitch is also available, with individual bank up and down functions and easy effects selection; making GTX a true live performance amp. It also unlocks the amp’s included 60-second looper!

Disappointed with this. The Bluetooth functionality is pretty hit and miss. I wanted to watch video of live performances or online tutorials and have the sound come through the amp to play along with. However there is a few seconds delay in the sound compared to the video meaning its impossible to play along with stuff. So I don’t bother with the Bluetooth unless I’m playing just music (no video). The amp also occasionally crashes. It just stops playing any sounds and I have to turn it on and off again. Also the volume progression is pretty poor. 1-2 hardly any sound and 3 too loud, fine with headphones though. Fingers crossed fender actually supports this amp and releases an update to fix these issues. Also the labels for the knobs are positioned in such a way that you have to be right over the amp to see them making adjusting settings a pain.

I purchased this as a replacement for my 15 year old Roland Cube and it is a huge leap forward. I had a few issues with connecting the amp to the app to begin with but I suspect that this was me rather than the equipment, a it seems fine now. The amp sounds fabulous and it even makes my playing sound good. With a huge array of existing tones and scope to add to these and/or change them around, there's plenty for me to still learn abut this amp.
