The GH Set aims to capture both the sound and aesthetic of Gary Holt – well known for his playing with Exodus and more recently as a permanent member of Slayer.
Unique Configuration
The GH set makes use of an EMG 89R in the neck position, while an EMG 81 compliments the bridge. EMG’s 89R performs a dual role here, as both a single coil and humbucker with its own individual preamp and coil (made for single coil tones without unwanted hum). The EMG 81 provides wonderful contrasting tone, offering tighter sustain and more bite.
