The Custom 24 is the definitive PRS guitar. Unveiled at the 1985 NAMM Show, this stellar six-string was PRS’ very first production model and it remains their most popular instrument even today. Distinctive for its flying bird fingerboard inlays, dual humbuckers, 24 frets and ergonomic contours; the Custom 24 is considered a modern classic among guitarists.
To celebrate its 35th Anniversary, PRS has unveiled a limited edition Custom 24 model for each of its main product ranges: Core, S2 and SE. Making these stunning guitars available at every price-point, the S2 35th Anniversary Custom 24 is a US-made workhorse that won't break the bank.
Capturing the foundational elements of the iconic Custom 24 design, the PRS 35th Anniversary S2 also adds the musical functionality of the PRS Paul’s Guitar - creating a new, super-versatile platform!
Body & Neck
PRS' 35th Anniversary S2 Custom 24 boasts a Mahogany body, delivering a warm sound with plenty of harmonic richness in the mid-range. Adorned with a gorgeous Figured Maple top, this instrument's beauty is guaranteed to inspire you to pick it up and play for hours on end.
Joining the body is a Mahogany neck carved to PRS' acclaimed "Pattern Regular" profile. Providing a natural and supportive feel, the neck is also topped with a silky smooth Rosewood fingerboard that offers a luxurious touch under the fingers.
Hardware & Electronics
Although this particular model may be a part of the more budget-friendly S2 line, PRS spared no expense when it came to the instrument's hardware and electronic appointments. The PRS Patented Tremolo keeps things solid, with its beautifully-machined design offering a comfy feel and a smooth vibrato arm action. At the other end of the guitar you’ll find a set of PRS Low Mass Locking tuners that'll keep your tuning super-stable, while making string changes a lot easier too.
The 35th Anniversary S2 Custom 24 features 85/15 “S” Treble and Bass pickups with two mini-toggle switches that allow you to put either or both pickups in humbucking or true single-coil mode. The clarity and unique tones of these vintage-inspired pickups are both big and nuanced, so that you can easily find their tonal sweet spot.
