Greenhouse Pedals Sludgehammer Fuzz Pedal

Written by

Sam Beattie

We'll start off by saying that the Sludge Hammer from Greenhouse Effects does exactly what it says on the tin. This isn't a Hendrix-inspired fuzz - there's very little old-school inspiration to be found here. Instead, the Sludge Hammer delivers that fatal sonic blow you've been looking for.

Greenhouse Effects Sludgehammer Fuzz

The aim of the game here is devastating doom-laden saturation that takes no prisoners. Ideally suited to modern hard-hitting styles of playing, it'll add plenty of hair to your stoner rock riffs and it'll saturate your metal tone in a gloriously filthy fashion!

The three main controls (gain, tone and body) allow you to drift between your chosen levels of filth, while the VNTG/MDRN switch provides two different types of reactivity depending on the amp or setup that you use. This makes for a surprisingly versatile stompbox - within reason!

Finally, true bypass switching means that the Sludge Hammer only affects your tone when you want it to. This is a harmonically rich fuzz with just the right amount of tweaking options, without compromising the wall of sound that you desire!
