SKU: DRIFTER

Product Description

The Drifter from Green Effects offers stunning analog tremolo sounds, but with all of the tweaking options you'd expect from a modern digital FX processor! You'll be able to go from 1950s wobble to glitchy mayhem with a few simple tweaks. Tremolo could be considered an acquired taste, but the Drifter aims to shatter expectations!

Compact, Complex

As with many of Greenhouse Effects' offerings, the Drifter managed to cram heaps of functionality and organic tone into a simple, single-unit stompbox enclosure. You've got the usual controls at your disposal; rate, volume and depth. As with most modulation effects, this allows simple tweaking within your chosen style. It's with the other controls that the Drifter really comes into its own!

The fun begins with the Drifter's 7 distinct waveforms and 3 switchable modes. 'Drift' mode allows the rate of the tremolo effect to fluctuate when you hold the footswitch down. Create dramatic glitching crescendos and allow the rate to smoothly decrease upon release - this highly responsive sound will change the way you approach modulation!

Again, 'Slide' mode reacts to you holding down the footswitch, but this time, it's the depth that fluctuates accordingly. Depending on the waveform that you've selected, the Slide mode functionality reacts differently. Add impact to more traditional-sounding tremolo tones, or hear your guitar turn synth-like when you use the square or pulse waveforms!

'Save' mode is exactly as it sounds; save your favourite sound so that it can be instantly recalled. You might enjoy messing around or using the Drifter as a reactive part of your sound, but you can always come back to that old familiar setting that always does the trick.

The waveforms that you can choose from are as follows: Triangle, Square, Sawtooth, Sine, Reverse Sawtooth, Pulse, Random

Bonus round: there's even a secret mode called 'Time' that you can engage by pressing the footswitch for 2 seconds when the pedal is off. Both the drift and slide ramping time will be controlled by the rate knob!

Specifications:

  • Controls: Rate, volume, wave, depth
  • Three modes: Drift, Save, Slide
  • Relay true bypass
  • Power: 9V regulated power supply

Good flexibility for shaping trem sounds, with a few nice features over alternatives. Boost beyond unity is really helpful with an effect of this type.
