The History of Gon Bops
In 1954 in his father’s garage in downtown Los Angeles Mariano Bobadilla first created Gon Bops. A play on his nickname ‘Bob’ and slang from the time ‘Gone’, Gon Bops took traditional Cuban drum shapes and introduced ground breaking innovation.
Everything from rounded hardware to protect the player’s hands to tunable congas and bongos came from the mind of Bobadilla. It’s these now everyday innovations that have made Gon Bops a favourite with percussion players around the world.
As major competitors began moving production off shore, Bobadilla refused to compromise on build quality and kept Gon Bops manufacturing in the US. As a result they met with financial difficulties and closed their doors in the 80’s.
In 2001, DW bought Gon Bops seeing the brand for what it was - a melting pot of quality, innovation and tradition. And the finally in 2010, Sabian president Andy Zildjian bought the company. Gon Bops still produce instruments favoured by players like Alex Acuna, Poncho Sanchez and Jose Hernandez.

How do I use instant finance?
It's simple! Just add the products you want to your basket and click the "Checkout" button in your basket. Go through the checkout process and tick the "Finance" option under "Select Your Payment Method". You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish.
