Black Rooster Audio Magnetite: 9th of July to 3rd of September
Black Rooster Audio's Magnetite is a versatile tape emulation effect from the highly regarded German developer. As well as this, you'll also be able to get a massive discount on their excellent Compressor Bundle too!
Magnetite will help you to add the unique sonic character of analogue tape to your productions. It's ideal for thickening your bass and drums, enhancing the presence of a vocal, or applying more cohesion to your master bus. If you're a producer of synthwave or lo-fi for instance, it's a perfect tool for sprinkling in some welcome retro flavour.
You'll have three contrasting Tape Types to choose from here. Increase your low frequencies with 'Black'; create pronounced high frequencies with 'Blue'; achieve balance and sonic neutrality with 'Red'. Once selected, use the Record Level knob to saturate your source with electro-magnetic character.
Frequency response can be altered too. This is done via the Tape Speed and Bias controls. More authenticity can then be achieved by dialling in your preferred level of wow flutter and hiss; you can even add the classic 60hZ hum of an actual tape deck!

Mastering the Mix IGNITE: 12th of March to 7th of May
IGNITE is a dynamic harmonic distortion effect that brings level- and frequency-responsive grit, textural character and stereo enhancement to any instrumental or vocal source. BASSROOM’s brilliant 3D interface and genre-specific EQ target suggestions – based on real-time analysis of your mixes – make productive manipulation of low frequencies almost effortless.
Nugen Audio Monofilter Elements: 16th of January to 5th of March
Focusrite’s Plug-in collective presents their latest offer: Monofilter Elements by Nugen Audio (not to mention the £100 discount you can make use of in the Nugen online store).
Monofilter elements aims to mono-ise the low frequencies present in your mix, thickening up the bottom end without affecting the rest of the spectrum. A smart algorithmic slider operates in a similar way to a traditional depth control – slimming down the aforementioned low frequencies, while simultaneously raising the cut-off point. The mono-ising then takes place below this.
Holiday Bundle: 7th of November to 16th of January
Focusrite’s Plug-in Collective Holiday Bundle brings together two powerful audio effects from Mastering The Mix and Sonible, and a highly realistic virtual guitar instrument from UJAM.
UJAM’s Virtual Guitarist Ironputs a world-class studio guitarist and their rig at the heart of your DAW, enabling producers of all ability levels to perform and capture authentic rock/metal riffs and power chords with their MIDI keyboard.
Grow is a stereo manipulation module from Mastering The Mix’s Animate plug-in that enables widening of selected frequencies using a psychoacoustic precedence effect.
Finally, the A.I.-driven Balancer, by Sonible in partnership with Focusrite, automatically adjusts a range of under-the-hood filters and algorithmic processes in order to match the spectral balance of the input signal to a range of tailored instrumental and vocal profiles.

Sonarworks: 7th of March to 2nd of May
Sonarworks specialise in calibration software which levels the musical playing field, using sophisticated algorithms to help music creators achieve pro-quality sound whatever their set-up and acoustic environment. The Reference 4 Headphone Edition is one of their most popular plug-ins, working to flatten the response of a user’s headphones, meaning you hear the music the way it was meant to be.
Mastering the mix - Grow & Levels: 10th of January to 7th of March
Grow is a dynamic module within the popular Animate plug-in, which enables you to increase the width of selected frequencies using a psychoacoustic precedence effect, spreading frequencies super-wide. Only audio that surpasses the set threshold will be pushed wide, so you don’t have to settle for a static and boring width, or worry about mangling the rest of your mix. Animate uses a sophisticated algorithm to create an all-pass filter to dramatically reduce harmful phase cancellation resulting from the filtering process, injecting real life into your mixes to get your music jumping out of your speakers.
Levels is an invaluable metering plug-in, perfecting your mastering by monitoring the elements of your mix and alerting you to any technical issues. So you can spend less time wondering why your mix isn’t working, and more time being creative.
