Product Description

The Fjord Fuzz EMBLA is one of the most dynamic, overdrive-like fuzz pedals we've ever heard. Made in Norway, this handmade stompbox is crafted with stellar components and promises scintillating, saturated gain tones that cut through effortlessly in a live mix.

Fjord's EMBLA does away with over-the-top controls, and instead presents 4 knobs that allow you to dial-in anything from boosted, preamp-like OD tones through to punchy mid-gain distortion and gnarly, wall-of-sound fuzz. This really is the only fuzz you'll ever need for your pedalboard — it simply does it all!

Please Note: The control plate on this pedal is made from copper which, as it oxidises, will develop marks and change colour over time giving each pedal a unique appearance.

About Fjord Fuzz

Fjord Fuzz are a tiny boutique pedal brand based in Bergen, Norway. Built "by real musicians for real musicians" — in their own words — Fjord's unique circuits completely warp your guitar's signal with glitchy, tone-altering, high-gain filth!

The company's speaker-shredding stompboxes are solely designed for experimental guitarists who crave the most extreme of tones, and frankly — they have to be heard to be believed! Engulfing walls of fuzzy bliss, self-oscillating pitch bends and sub-octave bellows make Fjord Fuzz's products far from conventional — and we mean that in the nicest way possible!

Here's what Fjord Fuzz says about the EMBLA:

This circuit was my first true invention and it has now gone through dozens of iterations to end up like this. I wanted a fuzz that behaved like an overdrive. I didn't like overdrives. Found them too boring. I couldn't find a fuzz that sounded cool, but could be managed like a regular drive unit.

EMBLA takes care of all of this and more. The gain and volume knobs take you from crisp, beautiful clean boost to thick, heavy fuzz and any nuance in between. It cleans up brilliantly and just always works. With any instrument, any amp and in any setting.

The bias knob lets you starve the signal without ever turning the pedal off. This can come in handy for bassists who don't want to just add to the noise floor of the band while idle or it can help you make your guitar sound like a 60s tonebender type fuzztone. The thickness control gives you the ability to pair it up with any amp. Turn it down for low wattage setups and back up for huge stage amps.

This is the pedal Ruban from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Bent from Motorpsycho, James Bay and countless others have been jamming on for years now.

It's time to get one and free yourself from the tedious hassle of soundchecking all your drive units. This one saves you all that time and trouble, and sounds really cool while doing it!

Sounds great as an overdrive but I wouldn’t say it’s very fuzzy. If you want a fuzz try one of the other options. I am impressed so will be getting another fjord pedal at some point

Interesting but not for me. Didn't work with may amp particularly well, (Friedman DS) quite bright.

Delighted with my new Fjord Embla fuzz, it is an amazing, very flexible fuzz that plays well with other pedals. The sound goes from subtle to really garage punk territory. First class service as always from Andertons
