Roasted maple is a luxurious, darker shade of Fender's classic maple. The wood undergoes a process called torrefaction or “baking”, to rid it of impurities and improve its strength and stability.
This particular neck has a flatter radius than the standard Fender design. You'd usually find it equipped on one of Fender's hotrodded instruments. A 12-inch radius is generally preferred by players focused on fast, technical playing.
