    Product Description

Unique, sleek and exclusive – the Vintera Road Worn Mischief Maker Strat is the result of another incredible Andertons and Fender collaboration.

A few years back, the Fender Custom Shop made a small run of incredible Mischief Maker guitars. We simply had to get in on the action. The Mischief Maker is a unique design consisting of a '60s Strat body and '50s Tele neck, bringing together the best of both worlds. And we've upgraded the pickups to US-made Pure Vintage 59s!

The original Mischief Maker was a relic'd guitar so we opted to make it Road Worn. And of course, it had to be finished in Danish Pete's favourite metallic purple colour.

    Hybrid Strat and Tele design

The large-C Tele neck provides a comfortable and familiar feel; a feature that'll surely appeal to classic guitar aficionados who prefer a more substantial shape. The vintage frets and 7.25" radius contribute to that classic touch and offer control under the fingers to allow for smooth vibrato and easy playability.

Stylistically, the Mischief Maker is in a league of its own. The slim Tele headstock gives the instrument a radically different look to the standard Vintera Strat. Pair that up with the nitro lacquer finish body, American pickups and you've got yourself a cool guitar that punches above it's weight!

    Pure Vintage '59 Pickups

Fender's US-wired Pure Vintage '59 pickups are wound to extremely precise specifications for authentic, traditional tone and performance. Built to evoke the original era of the Fender Stratocaster with their alnico 5 magnets and formvar-coated wire, these '59 Strat single coils produce a round, warm tone with a sweet edge.

This guitar is instantly familiar to play which may be down to it being road worn. The neck is a large C and is without doubt the nicest guitar neck I’ve ever played. I have a 2016 American standard strat which is a great guitar but I prefer this one. Setup was very good out of the box although as with any guitar I buy it goes to the local luthier for a pro setup. The relic work looks good and is much nicer in person than in the photos. Summing up I would say you get the custom shop vibe at a 3rd of the price.

This thing is amazing. The color, finish and feel are everything I've wanted in a fender. I have been a gibson guy for a while and have put off buying a strat style guitar. I'm glad I waited for this one that has the Tele neck to make it even more unique. The pickups are just the cherry on top because I know I don't have to ever upgrade them. This guitar is perfect.

This is my first "relic" guitar and it's not a bad start. The Pete's Purple color is fantastic, although less sparkly than his famous telecaster! Unfortunately, however, the Mexican manufacture shows up. More than an aged guitar it looks like an unfinished guitar, the frets are not perfectly filed but, above all, the neck profile is not regular around the second fret. Nothing serious but you can feel it under your hand while playing. Too bad because the main feature of this guitar is the telecaster type neck on the stratocaster body. The sound, on the other hand, is amazing for an instrument of this range. The pickups are great and the body is quite resonant. The neck is a very fat C but it's not that hard to play. The 7.25 neck radius is not a problem with bendings especially using a 009-042 string gauge. Furthermore, the guitar holds the tuning perfectly even using the tremolo arm a lot. I think I'll use it a lot to play Frusciante-style things. In any case, however, this guitar has ignited in me the passion for relic guitars and therefore I hope to be able to buy in the future a Custom Shop '60 obviously with the 7.25 radius.

Shocking, Nut over hang on high E side, all frets sharp on high E side only, tuner mounting screws wont tighten, they are all stripped and need replugging, bridge set slightly at a slant but does however intonate ok, to return this item Andertons made it pretty much impossible to return as they insisted on photo's of the stripped screws, How you photo screws that continually turn is beyond me, I have a Classic Vibe that is way above the quality of this instrument, dont let the Nitro finish and American pickups lead you in to paying the whopping £1000 price tag, trust me, this guitar is NOT worth the money, To date i have now corrected the nut and frets, and it does seem to play fine, however, because of the other issues that now niggle the life out of me i feel gutted that i spent the amount i did on this, there are way batter guitars to be had for this money and the issues have totaly ruined my experience with this guitar, My advice, buy something else from somewhere else,

would have given it 5 stars but the fretboard needed some good work to fix the fret sprout and the neck was a little sticky. once that was done, it was good to go. love the vintage pickups in it!
