Classic Construction

The Epiphone Flying V Prophecy adheres to Gibson's signature all-Mahogany guitar construction, guaranteeing a thick and harmonically-rich sound with piano-like sustain. To give the model a truly high-end aesthetic, Epiphone has applied multi-ply binding around its body and neck to really tie everything together - akin to a genuine US-made Gibson.

SlimTaper Neck

The neck is the most essential part of any guitar when it comes to playability, which is why Epiphone has used its acclaimed 'SlimTaper' profile for its Prophecy models. With a thin, asymmetrical shape that provides optimal comfort and speed - the Flying V Prophecy's neck is a shredder's paradise! An Ebony fingerboard offers a smooth touch under the fingers too, with jumbo frets ensuring a controllable feel for string bends and vibrato.

Custom-Voiced Fishman Fluence Pickups

Arguably the most noteworthy aspect of Epiphone's Flying V Prophecy is its custom-voiced Fishman Fluence humbuckers. Delivering consistent and high-fidelity tones with any amp settings, these pickups also offer three distinct voicings via intuitive push/pull volume and tone pots. This includes a warm Gibson BurstBucker "Patent Applied For" vintage humbucker, a hot modern humbucker and a shimmering overwound single-coil sound - making the Flying V Prophecy a tonal chameleon suitable for any style!

High-Quality Hardware

All Epiphone Prophecy guitars come equipped with modern and practical hardware appointments. The Flying V model is no exception, which sports Grover locking tuners, a tone-enhancing Graph Tech NuBone nut and a proprietary LockTone bridge/tailpiece. You can therefore expect rock-solid tuning stability and fast, stress-free string changes.

The guitar had 2 minor scratches on the fretboard and a non perfect finish in 2 points of the neck, but that doesn't bother me. Rather, the top E-string would fry when bending on 3 frets (15, 16, 18) and I had to raise the action. I am not sure whether the neck has bent and requires truss action. You certify that the instrument has been checked but either not so thoroughly or the guitar has been affected by the travelling. All in all, I'm happy with the instrument, but I hate that for such an expensive instrument I have to find imperfections and problems, it's not a £200 guitar!
