Product Description

Bringing back the true essence of vintage guitars, the Les Paul Standard '50s boasts retro flair in the bucketloads. Epiphone's "Inspired by Gibson" collection takes iconic features and advanced construction techniques and applies them to genuinely accessible instruments.

Construction

Incredibly accurate to the original "Golden Era" design, the Standard '50s is made using a trusty Mahogany body and neck combination with a Maple cap displaying the wood grain. Any guitarist's dream.

The neck is shaped into a '59 rounded medium "C" – styled after the legendary Les Paul and famed for its playing comfort. Paired with the 12" fingerboard radius and medium jumbo frets, the Standard '50s provides the classic feel of the earliest Les Paul models. Hardware specs include a LockTone ABR bridge and 18:1 ratio tuners for admirable stability.

Sound

Not only does the Standard '50s come equipped with the excellent PAF-inspired ProBucker 1 and 2 humbucking duo, but it uses '50s-style wiring techniques to get the full flavour of the pickups. Smooth, hum-free tone with an instantly recognisable warm low-end and sweet sustain. The bridge ProBucker 2 is slightly overwound for extra attack and sounds great through crunchy levels of gain, while its neck counterpart takes a softer touch.

I am not the world's greatest guitarist (in fact I am pretty bad) but to Les Paul is a lovely guitar

This guitar, at this price bracket, is quite simply outstanding value for money. I have owned and played a fair few Gibsons, some excellent, others a bit iffy, and I wasn't really in a position to spend thousands for a gigging war horse .Enter the Epiphone Les Paul standard. Looks great, deep trad colours, vintage finish,,nice pickups, not too heavy and a players neck. What's not to like? If you know your way around a guitar you will soon find the warmth and the bite, very very good sound! One tiny blemish on underside, not noticeable unless you're really looking, but, as I've previously noted, I've had guitars four times the price which should never have left the factory.Overall, a fantastic guitar!

Best Epiphone I've played. Sounds and feels brillient. Think it looks better without the scratch plate but that is just my personal opinion

Its a really great guitar, especially considering the price. Very happy. Left a black print on my fingers but only for a few days.

There's a small dent on the neck, one of the tuners isn't straight, the trust rod cover screws are bent, there's a flaw in the paint near the heel and the set up wasn't the best, iv'e had better set up's on cheaper guitars.
