Product Description

The Onomatopoeia is an awesome low gain overdrive pedal that sounds best when used in front of a tube amp to give the amp a bit more gain or overdrive. It can also be used as a solo boost for more volume when you kick into a solo, but it will colour the sound. It's not a clean boost but having the Tone knob allows you to adjust the EQ so that you cut through the mix.

The Saturation knob is unique to this pedal because it has 2 major functions. WHen turned all the way to the left it imitates the sound of a driven tube amp with one of the power amp tubes removed (This would compress the signal quite drastically) and all the way to the right it will amplify the signal as normal.

Here's what Emma Electronic say

The Sonic Boom!
The OnoMATOpoeia is basically a sonic super hero. Clean boost by day, dirty overdrive by night, and with some serious superpowers hidden up its sleeve.  It's the secret sauce your pour on your tone when you want that extra Oomph! That extra Kapow! It's what you kick in when you need your solos to soar or your rhythms to roar.

  • From clean boost to gritty overdrive in one pedal
  • Saturation control - alters the gain structure for a world of old-school and modern drive tones
  • Unique seesaw tone control - for well-balanced vintage tones to crisp and sparkly modern tones
  • Highly intuitive control set - dial in amazing tones quick and easy
  • Top-mounted I/O
  • Handmade in Denmark
  • True-Bypass switching

The goal with the OnoMATOpoeia was to create a pedal that every player out there would benefit from having on their board. Something that would sweeten up the sound no matter if it was used subtly or shamelessly. The result: a unique and versatile boost/overdrive pedal that can do anything from adding a little push to lift solos or rhythms off the ground, to adding some glorious tube-like grit.

With the addition of a wide-ranging 'seesaw' tone control and a saturation knob that changes the gain structure from loose, old-school and slightly fuzzy to tight and modern, this pedal has a tonal trick available for any musical trade out there.
