Product Description

Roland's SPD One Kick Percussion Pad allows you to apply high-quality kick drum and other percussion sounds to your studio work or live performances. Packed full with 22 expressive, dynamic, natural drum sounds - ranging from kick drums, cowbells, shakers and a whole lot more - you've got all the tools here required to enhance your productions or live shows. Simply clamp it to your tom, cymbal or hi-hat stand using the included adapter and you'll be ready to go!

Play Your Way

You can play this pad anyway you like, really. Use drumsticks, your hands, or your feet (if you're so inclined). Certain parameters like trigger threshold and sensitivity can be adjusted in seconds using the hands-on controls positioned on the side. The pad is responsive and highly playable, whether you're a drummer looking for a new element for your setup, or a guitarist who's looking for some stomping beats.

Simple Controls

Ease of use is the name of the game here. To select your sounds, all you have to do is turn the bank selector to one of the twelve positions and then strike the pad to get going. Four main knobs on the front let you lower or increase the volume, customise individual sounds and balance your levels. It's this range of streamlined controls which make the pad a breeze to operate.

Highly Portable

The unit is rugged, compact and built to withstand the rigours of the road. Battery operated, lightweight and sleek, its metal construction allows you to confidently take it with you wherever it's required. You'll be able to produce and play sounds while you travel too thanks to a built-in headphone port.

Music Production

Integrated USB-MIDI support allows you to use the SPD One Kick Percussion Pad as a digital controller for your DAW. You'll be able to add realistic MIDI percussion to your existing or new productions.

Import Custom Samples

Using USB, you'll be able to import your own custom WAV samples (anything up to five seconds long). These can then be altered in the same way that you would with the preset sounds.

Superb sounds and intuitive controls. Works as well with foot operation as with hands or drumsticks.

It's not cheap. It's nearly double the cost of a "typical" stomp box - but. This thing has so many Kick/Basss Drum sounds, it allows me to cover a much wider range of songs than a one sound box. I'm using it through a Roland Street Cube just now and its fine for what I need. When it gets plugged in to something larger, or using the headphone socket, it really does sound excellent in my opinion ( although I'm not a Drummer ). Def recommend for anyone looking to get a bigger sound during Solo performances.

This is a great pedal - well made and the sounds are good. The reason I have rated it 4 stars and not 5 is that it suffers from the same problem many kick pedals do..running away from you! I also found the angle of my foot when sitting was great but if you try to use it standing, it kills your shins. I fixed that by mounting it on a board. Sorted! Another minor quibble is that there is no visible indication of which sound option (alternative) you're using which can be confusing when changing quickly in a gig.
