The Gretsch Country Gentleman is an increbly popular guitar that has been a major part of the Gretsch lineup since the late 50's. The Modern Gretsch
While a lot of the design and tone are certainly what you would expect from a Gretsch the playability is actually changed to fit the more modern player who may be used to slimmer necks and lower action. Using modern Gretsch 'ML' bracing which works beautifully with the thinner 2.25" body which makes the most of both the front and back pieces for just as strong sustain and projection but in a more compact form.
Filtertron Pickups
Gretsch are well known for having made their own style of pickup known as the filtertron. These are humbucking pickups with big covers and open coils that have a bright and open tone similar to what you hear out of classic single coils. Bigsby Tremolo
The Bigsby is one of the smoothest tremolo systems ever made and has been used by countless artists to create subtle movement in chords and sweet bends.
