Sound

The Simplifier covers a lot of ground, from chimey cleans through to mid-gain snap and into growling drive territory. It acts as a brilliant pedal platform for all your experimental stompboxes.

There’s a lot happening on the face of the Simplifier. But in practice, that’s a good thing. No diving into menus and sub menus here - everything is as you see it. Flick a switch or turn a dial and your tone changes in pure analogue fashion. Only the purest guitar tones to be found here.

Controls

Paint your guitar canvas with a choice of 6L6, EL34 or complex KT88 tube tones. Adjust realistic presence and resonance controls for an "in-the-room" feel. The tone character toggle sculpts your core sound to British or American styles.

On the left side of the pedal you’ll find your stereo cab sim solutions. Dive into 1x12, 2x12 and 4x12 cab sizes and two mic placement dials for a truly creative tone chasing process.

Connectivity

Slot the Simplifier into any portable setup. Quiet playing is no problem with the headphones input. The stereo effects loops caters to all your monolithic sounding pedals. Simply put, the Simplifier covers all aspects of direct interface recording or front of house live use.

Great product. Used to run into a PA and into amps for more fuller stereo sound. Used at the end of a pedal board. Silent operation with plenty on tonal options

I've wanted to do some gigs without an amp, so I bought and auditioned this and the Two Notes Cab M+. I much preferred the Simplofier through a PA, it has a more convincingly amp like response under the fingers with zero latency due to being analog. However, it's less convincing for direct recording, where due to the lack of any modelling, it sounds more obviously like a DI'd signal, quacky in the high end like a piezo pickup played clean, and a bit woolly with overdrive. I can't see why you would choose it over amp modelling software in your DAW for going direct. My tip for getting the best out of the simplifer would be this: remember it's analog, so all the toggles and knobs are just adjusting EQ, there's no emulation or modelling going on. Take the different amp, cab and valve names with a pinch of salt. For example I mainly play a fender amp, but in fact I found I got a more similar tone through the vox + el34 setting than the fender model. As always, trust your ears!

It's ok but not doing what I expected a little nosy when recording. I'm sure I'll get used to it the more I use it, we'll see.

Versatile bit of kit, lots of tweaks for tone, lots of ways to connect/insert into an existing pedal board. Excellent for home recording setup

Great product. If you like the analog sound and want to use drive pedals without carrying an amp about then this should see you right. For an all analog pedal the sounds drastically change via the switching options. My only criticism would be that the manufacturer didn't supply any rubber feet with it.
