Product Description

Designed for professionals and the extreme drumming enthusiast, Trick Drums consistently deliver pedals with the highest dependability and accuracy.

The Pro1-V series features sleek, streamlined design and a smooth responsive action. Solid billets, compression spring technology and ball bearings on each moving point make this pedal an impressive piece of drumming hardware engineering.

A classic ShortBoard construction on this direct drive single pedal grants added flexibility and a much lighter feel. This is due to the removal of 7 ounces of aluminium from the underside of the footboard. However, this decision doesn’t compromise on strength, durability or response.

The spring-loaded hoop mount ensures straightforward attachment to your bass drum, easily adapted to match different hoop depths. Spring tension adjustment makes complicated adjustment of the pedal as simple as possible, without the need for tools.

Undoubtedly the best bass drum pedal available anywhere. Yes, they are pricey but when one compares the infinite level of adjustability, build quality and the uniqueness of many of the features incorporated with other pedals in a similar price bracket, all of a sudden they start to seem like a bargain. Nothing I’ve tried touches this pedal in terms of smooth action and the scope to fine tune to an exact personal specification. Plus, they are massively robust, require no maintenance whatsoever and in spite of the range of adjustments it’s possible to make, the Pro V1 is definitely the most intuitively designed, streamlined and easy to use pedal I’ve ever used. These pedals are widely used by drummers for whom extreme feats of speed and technicality are the defining aspect of their playing, especially in the metal genre. But don’t be mistaken - they’re not appropriate only for people who play these styles of music. The reason they are favoured by the speed freaks is because they are simply great pedals, allowing the facility to achieve exactly the right feel and response for what ever the player demands of them. Surely this idea of the ultimate pedal is universal to all drummers. Finally, in addition to all the fine-tuning you can do with the pedal as standard, should you ever want to convert from direct drive to chain, this is easily done with one of Trick’s retrofit kits. Want to play double bass? The single pedal is very quickly and simply adapted to a double with the expansion kit. Incidentally, the add-on pedal is not a traditional slave unit but a self-contained single pedal, meaning exactly the same feel is achievable in both right and left pedals and you always have the option of quickly deconstructing your double pedal into the form of two singles (for when you finally get that second bass drum). You honestly will never need/want another pedal. I only meant for this review to be a few sentences but they’re just so damn good, I couldn’t help but word-vomit. Fundamentally, these things are not only a pleasure to own because of their playability but because they are beautifully designed and engineered machines. Honestly, as good as it gets.
