The LTD EC-401 encapsulates ESP’s approach to the Eclipse; a classic design with a top-to-bottom redress to meet modern demands. The EC range often features active pickups and extravagant design appointments, but the 401 model takes a step back and opts for class. Timeless chrome hardware, an alluring black finish and DiMarzio PAF-style humbuckers – inspired by the classics.
Body & Neck
A Mahogany body is the natural tonewood accompaniment to this style of guitar. Plenty of resonant sustain and a hefty low-end, perfect for the classic single-cut vibe. What you may not notice by looking at the pictures is how thin this guitar is. It's designed to be easy to play and lightweight to hold without sacrificing that glorious Mahogany warmth that you know and love.
For the set-in neck, ESP have continued the Mahogany theme. This keeps the guitar well balanced and adds to the weighty sustain. A Rosewood fretboard smooths the sound over but helps accentuate the guitar’s attack – great for modern riffing and centre-stage lead parts.
Hardware & Electronics
ESP have dual-loaded this fine guitar with DiMarzio 36th Anniversary humbuckers. Expect warm, creamy vintage output that's perfectly suited to blues and classic rock, but with plenty of bite on tap – all you’ve gotta do is whack it. The aim here is gloriously saturated tone, perfectly accentuated by the Mahogany & Rosewood ensemble.
Next up, the Chrome hardware, including a TonePros TOM bridge and tailpiece and locking tuners, are the finishing touches. Don’t be fooled by its old-school looks; this instrument is precise down to the finest detail.

How do I use instant finance?
