Victory's pint-sized 'The Jack' amplifier boasts the exact same circuitry found in their V30 'The Countess' MkII head, albeit with a new name that more accurately reflects its versatility! Befitting of its ability to cater for most musical styles, this "jack of all trades" amp is the perfect partner for the working musician looking for a tone machine that can cover plenty of sonic territory.
Developed with Guthrie Govan
The Victory 'The Countess' was originally developed with British virtuoso Guthrie Govan as his "flying amp" to tour around the world with. When arguably one of the world's most praised guitarists uses your amplifier - it must be good!
2 Channels, 3 Modes
A MkII edition of the Victory V30 'The Countess' was unveiled a few years ago, with a footswitchable 'Crunch' mode added to its clean channel to expand its tonal palette, as well as a 'Nomod' function to offer two levels of bass response. 'The Jack' follows this flexible formula, essentially making it a 3-channel amp with two distinctive voicings.
All The Tones You'll Ever Need!
Regarding sonics, the clean channel has massive headroom and lots of chime - giving it oodles of stage-filling volume without ever sounding muddy. Activating the 'Crunch' mode brings in some tasteful gain, providing a "pushed clean" sound on the very edge of breakup - akin to the tones you can attain from Victory's V40 and The Sheriff 44 amps. This was a feature previously exclusive to the high-end V130 'The Super Countess' amp head. The overdrive channel has a huge modern sound, with plenty of rock-ready distortion on tap for hard rock and metal tones.
6L6 Power Valves
This version of 'The Jack' comes equipped with 6L6 power valves, synonymous with American amplifiers. 6L6s are adored for remaining clear and defined at higher volumes with a warm, scooped-out mid-range. Victory's 'The Jack' is also available with EL34 power tubes - if you prefer a more British vibe.
High & Low Power Modes
People are often astounded at the punchy, high-headroom clarity of the V30's 42 watts. It's loud enough for almost any venue or scenario, but if you want to explore lower volumes and a different set of dynamics - you can switch to the 7-watt mode. This enables you to attain sweet preamp saturation without blowing your ears off - great for recording or home practice!
"Nomod" Function
The Victory 'The Jack' has a footswitchable "Nomod" function. When the MkII Countess was released, it was re-voiced to have a tighter low-end response than its predecessor - especially with heavier overdrive sounds. However, Guthrie Govan liked it exactly as it was! That's why the "Nomod" function allows you to switch between both voicings; a feature which 'The Jack' has retained.
