Product Description

The GT (Grand Theater) is the latest instrument from American acoustic guitar powerhouse Taylor. Featuring uniquely modern proportions - both in body dimensions and scale length - the GT essentially sits between the sizes of Taylor's compact GS Mini and its Grand Concert model, their most petit full-sized body shape.

This results in an ergonomic acoustic guitar that's simply a delight to play, with no compromises on projection or sonic character. The GTe is an electrified version of the standard Grand Theater, equipped with Taylor's proprietary ES2 "behind-the-saddle" pickup system. Complete with a beautifully-made Taylor AeroCase, the GTe is the perfect partner for performing singer-songwriters.

Smaller size. Bigger sound. Serious fun!

Today's musicians are leaning more towards instruments that can offer optimal playing comfort without sacrificing tone. Taylor recognised this trend, and turned to their head designer Andy Powers to create a new acoustic guitar that can meet those particularly needs - ultimately combining the playability of a small instrument with the rich sound of a conventionally-sized, solid-wood acoustic guitar.

GT Body Construction

The GT's body shape derives from the curves of Taylor's flagship Grand Orchestra model, but is scaled-down and feels far less cumbersome. While its top is made from expressive Solid Spruce, the Taylor GT's back and sides are constructed from Solid Urban Ash - a sustainable material embraced for its clarity and woody, mid-range warmth.

New 'C-Class' Bracing

Rather than simply minimising an existing shape, Taylor has used the Grand Theater to also innovate a new bracing architecture - 'C-Class'. The "C" refers to the cantilevered, asymmetrical design; merging stiffness and flexibility in a way that helps to enhance bass frequencies for a surprisingly robust low-end response. This new concept is somewhat akin to Taylor's acclaimed 'V-Class' bracing, and borrows some of its functional benefits - meaning that you can also expect brilliant volume, singing sustain and great stability.

Playable Neck

The US-made Taylor GT boasts a 24.125" scale length; bridging the gap between the dimensions of the GS Mini and Grand Concert. This slightly condensed design therefore brings the GT's frets closer together, making stretches far easier to accomplish while also reducing string tension for a more forgiving feel.

ES2 Electronics

Taylor's electro acoustic guitars are renowned for their realism when amplified through PA systems or recorded direct. Their popular ES2 (Expression System 2) is a groundbreaking design that utilises a patented behind-the-saddle pickup, featuring three uniquely-positioned and individually-calibrated pickup sensors. Yielding a wide dynamic range, ES2 ensures that the full voice of the instrument can be captured and conveyed.
