Product Description

The 814ce is the Taylor flagship model. With it's ultra-thin finish for more resonance as well it's its premium construction and premium woods, it really is like a supercar in the acoustic world. For 2018, a number of minor tweaks have further cemented this incredible instrument as one of the top in its category!

V-Class Bracing

First up, Taylor have opted to use their revolutionary V-class bracing for this luxurious instrument. This seemingly minor tweak actually has a huge effect on the tone and playability of the guitar. By taming the response of the top (soundboard), you'll attain better sustain, powerful projection and stunning clarity like never before.

Premium Taylor Design

Indian Rosewood back/sides and Sitka Spruce top provide a class aesthetic with a lush tone to match. These are combined with a number of distinct design appointments, such as an ebony fretboard, maple binding, a Venetian cutaway and signature ES2 electronics. Suitably outstanding specifications if you ask us!

Here's what Taylor have to say about the 814ce with V-Class bracing:

Our flagship Grand Auditorium now boasts even more sonic delights with the addition of our groundbreaking V-Class bracing architecture. The classic tonewood combination of Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce still delivers its characteristic blend of warmth, low-end presence, and high-range sparkle, but V-Class bracing elevates that tone to new heights. Notes sustain longer, allowing rosewood’s rich overtones to bloom with more clarity than ever, and the advanced bracing scheme introduces greater power and tunefulness across the entire tonal spectrum for a rich and expressive sound. Standout material features include a smoky ebony fretboard sourced from Taylor’s Crelicam mill in Cameroon, maple binding, rosewood edge trim, an abalone rosette edged with rosewood, and mother-of-pearl Element fretboard and peghead inlays. The 814ce also includes a Venetian cutaway and our ES2 acoustic electronics, and ships in a deluxe hardshell case.
