Product Description

Stone Deaf's PDF-1 and PDF-2 (Parametic Distortion Filter) pedals are regarded as modern classics. Used by a raft of contemporary rock titans, most notably Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age, these coveted stompboxes are adored for their flexible EQ controls and thick gain sounds that can stretch from edge-of-breakup boost to gnarly distortion/fuzz.

It's been over a decade since Stone Deaf launched their groundbreaking PDF-1, a unit which took the legendary Maestro MPF-1 circuit a step further. The PDF-2 built upon that, to become something totally unique with even more features packed under the hood. And now, the limited edition Stone Deaf PDF-1X brings the best of both worlds together — for an all-in-one tone-sculpting powerhouse that’s arguably the British brand's most versatile pedal to date!

All of the Control You'll Ever Need

Dual footswitches. Expression control. Parametric EQ. High-gain and low-gain flexibility. PDF-1X has it all! As well as merging the best features of the PDF-1 and PDF-2 into a single enclosure, the PDF-1X also comes with a shiny new addition — a volume knob. This helps it play nicely with other pedals, and opens up a new range of tonal options across the clean and dirty channels. The gain control is now an internal trimpot too, which is pre-set to PDF-1 territory but can be ramped all the way up into PDF-2 high-gain anarchy if that’s your thing!

With that added versatility, the PDF-1X covers boost, overdrive, distortion and fuzz — meaning that it can become the gain centrepiece of your pedalboard. Not to mention the parametric EQ control and expression pedal functionality, for precise tweaking and attaining phaser or wah sounds. It’s a lot. But you’re worth it. And you get to decide if it’s a set-and-forget, always-on "secret sauce" for your playing — a scalpel for finding the perfect tone in the studio — or anything in between!

Owned the PDF-2 and the fixed volume was always a pain. Setting the EQ and being able to boost the volume on the 1X is amazing.
