Product Description

The Stone Deaf Fig Fumb is a versatile Muff-inspired fuzz pedal that imitates the iconic sound of the original but improves on it... in about every way possible! Not only does it have a wider-sweeping gain control, but it also boasts a full parametric EQ that allows for finer tonal adjustments. It even has a built-in noise gate to eliminate annoying hiss and feedback!

Supercharged "Muff" Fuzz

The EHX Big Muff is one of the most popular fuzz pedals ever made. Its thick and engulfing "wall of sound" gain made it a staple of '90s alternative rock, but even the likes of David Gilmour and Carlos Santana have used this unit to achieve the long-sustaining lead tones that they're so renowned for.

Unfortunately, the original is extremely large and has a few issues that put off some modern guitar and bass players. This is where the Fig Fumb comes into its own — giving contemporary musicians the coveted "Muff" sound but enhanced with features that improve its usability.

Fuzz, Balance, Frequency, Cut/Boost and Bandwidth controls let you carefully-craft the ultimate fuzz tone, especially with the frequency notches that hone in on a particular area of your EQ. Because of all of this control, you can go from the extremes of a Muff fuzz sound to some much more subdued, overdrive-like tones.

Built-In Noise Gate

While a lot of pedal companies will add noise gates to their gain stompboxes, they often forget to give you the control you need. With the Fig Fumb, the noise gate is not only easy to dial-in but is even footswitchable! This means that you can engage it for a particular section in a song, or switch it off to create chaotic feedback effects!

The pedal is fun and has many options but it is a bit noisy.

Really impressive pedal, which offers an insane amount of control. The noise gate in particular is a huge plus for this sort of fuzz, as you can run it as hot as you want and prevent it oscillating/feeding back. The only drawback I've found is that it is a bit fiddly to dial in. At least 3 of the controls really impact each other, so it takes a fair bit of tweaking to get everything just so. The frequency in particular takes a lot of experimenting. With the pedal being suitable for bass too, the range on that control is not especially intuitive. The flip side of that though is that the range of tones is like no other BM style pedal I've ever seen.

The 'fig fumb' is a really well thought out take of a well known anagram of this pedal. Far more tweakable than the original in my opinion but still has the unmistakable character of that pedal. Love it. 👍

Love the wide range of tones I'm getting from this. The noise gate is a cracking feature too. Way better than my Big ****!

I've had various Big **** fuzzes, including EQD's Hoof, but this is by far the best one for my sound.

Tried against the fallout cloud and spires fuzz. As much as I liked the others, this thing's a beast!

Very Pleased With Fuzz Pedal, Except For The Indicator Bulbs. They Are Blinding Bright.
