Product Description

This beautiful Squier FSR Classic Vibe electric guitar pays homage to the earliest semi-hollow Tele Thinline models from the '60s, but with a slight contemporary twist thanks to a cool silver anodized pickguard! Providing all of the vibe and character of those coveted, classic instruments but without the ridiculous vintage pricing — this is your chance to grab a brilliant, bang-for-your-buck guitar with elegant style and scintillating sonics.

Unfortunately, the Squier Tele I purchased had some setup issues. The good - the neck is great, the frets nice and level and the fret ends reasonably well finished. The finish is remarkably good on a guitar at this price. The bad - the neck had miles too much relief, the action was set far too high and there was a significant amount of buzz at the nut. The jack socket was loose and able to rotate. I have a number of guitars and have accumulated all the tools and experience over the years to do a full setup, so a couple of hours spent on the Squier and it now plays very nicely indeed. As the Squier was bought as a modding project anyway, I have no issues with this but if this had been bought as someone’s first instrument it would have been a real disappointment.

The FSR looks and plays great. Only problem, the neck pickup was really lame. It sounded way too dark, underpowered and muddy. Consequently, it ruins the middle position as well. Only the bridge pup provided the power and clarity a Tele should have. Andertons refused to discount me or replace the pickup. So, basically, I have a guitar with only one sound and one usable position. I will have to upgrade at my own expense. Other than that, the axe is nice. I look forward to replacing the ****** pickup so the guitar can come alive and perform the way it should.

Andertons did a full inspection, everything was set up well and ready to play right out of the box. Fit and finish are flawless, smooth fret edges and a well-cut bone nut. Black sparkle finish has to be seen in person to really appreciate it. Was surprised to find a higher-end selector switch. This one really captures the 'Bakersfield' sound.

Seems I got really lucky with this particular squier, probably the best out of the box squier ever had my hands on (and that's quite a few!), beautiful guitar and flawless, frets, finish, everything - very happy and feels better than some expensive guitars. Amazing!
