The Squier range of Stratocaster guitars lend themselves easily to upgrading, I already have SSS and HSS versions so I thought it was time to get the HH version. Ok, so it needed some minor adjustments after leaving it to acclimatise but nothing more. I am happy with it and glad that I bought it.

Mr Will Turner19th Dec 2023

Been playing this guitar for three months and as of so far I have no major complaints. The bridge humbucker gives a warm, thick, and throaty tone, while the neck humbucker is far more bright though perhaps a little nasal on the higher strings. This is a really minor and subjective criticism which may vary from player to player (I would advise listening to demos of any guitar/physically playing the guitar before purchasing). The guitar has consistently impressed me with it's ability to stay in tune for extended periods of time. The overall build quality of this guitar is brilliant. The finish is of great quality given the price, the satin satin neck is no exception of this. Most definitely punches well above its price range in this respect. My only complaint with this guitar lies in the tremolo system. With a budget guitar like a Squier Stratocaster, it's inevitable that corners must be cut in certain aspects. The tremolo system feels cheap, stiff and insecure. My own guitar also had a strange sound of a high pitched rattle when I used the tremolo arm. Due to this, I've found it easier to simply leave the tremolo arm off the guitar. However, overall this is a brilliant guitar, amazing for any beginner and intermediate player. I would highly recommend this guitar for anyone looking for a budget guitar with a HH pickup layout.
