Other highlights include dual Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups, a time-honoured short 24" scale length and a slim, comfortable "C"-shaped neck profile with an easy-playing 9.5"-radius fingerboard.

Key Features

  • Poplar Body — Lightweight material with a balanced sound; the perfect tonal foundation for the pickups.
  • Bolt-On Construction — Produces a snappy note response for an immediate playing experience.
  • 24" Scale Length — Shorter scale brings the frets closer together for easier stretches, and gives the instrument lighter tension for effortless, slinky string bends.
  • "C"-Shaped Neck — Slim profile provides comfortable playability, suitable for both traditional and contemporary players.
  • Vintage-Tint Gloss Neck Finish — Gives the guitar an aged look reminiscent of true '60s instruments.
  • Narrow Tall Frets — Offer a controllable feel for wide vibrato and pitch-perfect string bends.
  • Fender-Designed Alnico Pickups — Two single-coils deliver the clear, bell-like sounds synonymous with Fender guitars. Extensive pickup switching circuitry expands the tonal palette too!
  • Vintage-Style Floating Tremolo — Embellish chords and lead lines with smooth, expressive vibrato.
  • Bone Nut — Classic, low-friction material minimises unwanted tuning slips and enhances sustain.
  • Vintage-Style Tuners — High-quality, old-school tuning machines allow for precise string pitching.

The squier custom vibe 60's Jaguar: A great guitar: The neck is a lovely short 24inches, glossy but not a sticky neck; tuners are responsive and precice. The neck feels smooth and great to play. The controls are as for a traditional Jaguar - rhythm and lead circuits. The Fender pickups give a great clean surfy sound. The vibrato is responsive. There's a few posts around the web that suggest swapping out tuners and vibrato: I don't see the need for either of these. For me the overall feel is a great experience whether traditional lead flat picking or even folky fingerpicking. Long term durability - of course it's too early to tell. I'm not likley to gig it hard, so I hope it won't cause any problems. It certainly seems durable and likley to survive if fairly well treated!
