Product Description

Hand-wired and built in Portland, Oregon, the Delta II from Spaceman Effects is a powerful harmonic tremolo with a myriad of tone shaping and rhythmic capabilities. Featuring a lush, all analogue signal path with three distinct voices, flexible filtering for expressive tones and true bypass relay switching, the Delta II offers unparalleled versatility in a compact, heavy duty chassis.

As with most tremolo pedals, the Delta II includes controls for RATE and DEPTH, which control the speed and intensity of the effect respectively. Unlike other tremolos though, the Delta II's LAG control allows you to dial in varying degrees of phase lag between the LFO outputs. At zero, you'll get a traditional tremolo and as you turn the knob up, you'll be in harmonic tremolo territory. The FREQ knob is a two-pole state variable filter where the high-pass and low-pass outputs are paired in different combinations for modulation. The RES control introduces an almost formant vocal-like quality to the filter, with more dramatic effects at higher settings.

The Delta II is available in three different finishes, Black, Red and Blue.

Key Features

  • 3 Distinct Voices - Switch Left - High & Dry. Switch Middle - High & Low. Switch Right - Low & Dry. Dial in anything from hazy, throbbing rhythms to phasing pulsations and everything in between.
  • Wide-Range LFO -  Capable of slow pulsation to audio-rate madness
  • High Headroom - The Delta II can be operated at 18V for maximum headroom and clarity.
  • Selectable Expression Control - Sweep through the depth and rate controls by connecting an external expression pedal.
  • Internal Volume Trimpot - Allows for precise level matching no matter where the Delta II sits in your signal chain.

More than a simple pedal, an instrument to study and play

Plugging in for the first time was was instant and resounding ‘Hell yes!’ Glorious, rich, chewy analog harmonic tremolo; with frequency & resonance as fantastic tone sculpting controls (so useful for adjusting to suit different guitars/amps), plus really fun secondary wave options. Also, it has expression out, which offers tremendous creative possibilities. (After 3 weeks with the Delta ii, I would never buy another tremolo without expression out). The pedal sounds incredible with low to medium gain overdrive and/or fuzz. It is very amp-like and feels great under the fingers, which in turn translates to a stronger connection between you as a player and the sound coming out of your amp/amps. I’ve had two highly revered digital harmonic trems before. Both of these were very good, but there’s just something about great analog harmonic trem which gets the heart racing. IMO Spaceman design/build particularly musical pedals. The Delta ii sits next to my beloved Spaceman Voyager i dynamic trem. Both these trems have serious mojo.
