Contemporary Design

Based on Sire's premium R7 Grand Auditorium design, the A7 offers world-class specs that far outweigh its price point. First of all, carefully selected and treated solid tonewoods are used throughout. A Spruce top offers a wholly balanced tone and great resonance, but the headline act in this case is the solid Rosewood back & sides. This adds heaps of warmth and smooth dynamics to your tone, perfectly voiced for solo acoustic playing.

The body and neck both feature luxurious Abalone binding & hypnotic inlays headed up by the unique but understated Sire headstock design. The Grand Auditorium design is compact and accessible with a simple cutaway. This means familiar, comfy playability and a classy modern look. If it's good enough for Sungha Jung, it's good enough for anyone!

World-Class Preamp

Sire’s preamps are known the world over for their quality. In the case of their acoustics, they’ve designed the Zebra SIB with this same quality in mind.

The Zebra SIB (standing for Simple Is Best) aims to combine the best of both worlds: a piezo undersaddle pickup and an internal mic. 3 intuitive controls allow you to take this combination and make it your own: pickup blend (controlling the level of the microphone), volume, and EQ searcher. The latter acts as a mid-contour control, ranging from accentuated bass to boosted treble and mid – it’s up to you to find your sweet spot!

The Sire Story

Sire began their journey in Korea in the late ‘90s. A group of friends set about making their own instruments after becoming frustrated with rising prices. After much hard work, research and determination, their instruments turned out a lot better than they expect – so good, in fact, that they started to attract the attention of other musicians. Combining excellent quality with affordable prices seemed to be a winning formula.

As demand grew in Korea, founder Kyle Kim saw an opportunity. He began seeking international expansion, but it found it difficult to break into the market due to tough competition. He set up Sire USA in Los Angeles, and began contacting influential artists for help. It was at this point, they crossed paths with Marcus Miller, a living legend in the bass world. Kim’s vision resonated with Miller, and led to highly successful design collaboration. The Marcus Miller line of basses from Sire were an international success. Now, Sire are looking to the horizon for their next adventure – onward and upward!

Good pricing, useful YouTube reviews and easy going people at the store. Although I had already purchase the Sire A7 (which I love), they gave me undisturbed time in the "special" acoustic room to try some Taylors & Martins. Interestingly, they also had some Gibson copies in this room, which to my ear I preferred over the Taylor's & Martin's. I cant remember the brand of these guitars, but they were in the £1200-£2000 range and also displayed in the "special" acoustic guitar room. Regarding the Sire A7 I purchased, I'm really happy with this guitar. The bass string stand out & produce a clear sound I hadn't heard with my previous guitar. I'm now paying far more attention to what I'm doing with these bass strings. I guess that's what you get with a solid rosewood back & sides accoustic. I'm really delighted and its opened up a new world to my playing. Highly recommended, hence 5 stars.

This guitar is really a beauty!! I can't leave my hands off. Great sound acoustically and via PA. brillant highs, great bass tone with the orginal Daddario strings; changed to Elixir Phospor bronze with even more bass and less squeaking. I'm very satisfied with the SIB system. I find the elctromagnetic pickup optically more obtrusive than 3 holes in the side of the guitar, perfect for percussive playing. And you don't have that little box dangling around. The first live situation has been a big success. Killer feature that hasn't been mentioned anywhere: this is a passive system - no need for batteries anymore!!

I Had to settle for a Guitar that I didn't originally want because my order was taken and then after 4 weeks of waiting for it to arrive I find out that it's not due in stock until sometime next year which was no good to me.
