Product Description

The Sigma DM7E is a unique 7-string electro-acoustic guitar that features a doubled G string. It's designed to somewhat imitate the sound of a 12-string acoustic, but presents itself as a far more usable and ergonomic instrument.

Less susceptible to the tuning stability issues that afflict most 12-string guitars while also less fiddly to fret, Sigma has simply doubled the DM7E's G string as it is the most audible area of a 12-string guitar's range - with the higher octave.

Construction

While the doubled G string is innovative and clever, the rest of the DM7E is far more traditional and in-keeping with the time-trusted design of a dreadnought acoustic guitar. Built mostly from Mahogany, this beautiful tonewood is used to construct both the DM7E's neck and its body back/sides.

A favourite among luthiers, Mahogany projects a rich and resonant sound with plenty of low-end power and mid-range warmth. A Sitka Spruce top is also quite conventional, and brings out lots of top-end sweetness for intricate finger-picked melodies or vibrant-sounding chords.

Electronics

The DM7E features a modern Sigma-designed preamp system that translates the instrument's stunning acoustic voice accurately through a connected acoustic amplifier or PA system. Featuring a 3-band EQ, you can precisely tailor the bass, middle and treble frequencies to suit the characteristics of practically any space or venue. And with a built-in tuner, you can easily check the Sigma DM7E's pitch on the fly.
