After the massive success of the Sequential Prophet-6 6 voice keyboard synth, Dave Smith Instruments have created a module version that you can sit on a desktop.
Instead of being restricted by the 4 octave keyboard that's on the original synth, you can hook this module version up to your favourite keyboard of choice. If you're used to an 88-note fully weighted keyboard, or you're looking for a super compact 2 octave keyboard (with synth style action), you'll have the flexibility to choose - and still have the amazing prophet-6 sound.
It's got all the same knobs and switches as the keyboard version of the prophet-6, except that they've added a poly chain feature which allows you to have up to twelve voices! That's perfect if you're looking to utilise a larger keyboard.
Vintage AND Modern
The Prophet 6 pays tribute to the poly-synth that started it all; the Sequential Prophet 5. But instead of just recreating that great vintage classic, Dave Smith takes it one step further and creates, in his words "the most awesome-sounding, modern analogue poly synth possible".
The result is a synth that takes all the best qualities of the original - including true voltage-controlled oscillators, filters and amplifiers - and then adds modern enhancements (like studio quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, an arpeggiator and other great tools). These allow you to make the most of the awesome prophet sound.
Classic Warm Vibe
The unmistakable warm and punchy sound in the prophet 6 is in the most part thanks to the newly-designed, discrete voltage-controlled oscillators that create each voice. Add to this the knob-per-function front panel that many digital synths seem to lack these days; Instead of trawling through menus on an LCD, all the features are right there at your fingertips for intuitive control.
