Product Description

The Custom 24 is the definitive PRS guitar. Unveiled at the 1985 NAMM Show, this stellar six-string was PRS’ very first production model and it remains their most popular instrument even today. Distinctive for its flying bird fingerboard inlays, dual humbuckers, 24 frets, 25" scale and ergonomic contours — the Custom 24 is considered a modern classic among guitarists.

This SE version of the iconic Custom 24 possesses all of those signature features, but is available at an affordable price-point that's attainable for most players! Finished in a gorgeous Black Gold Burst colour, this instrument's versatile sonics and remarkable playability makes it suitable for all styles.

Rich Mahogany Body

The PRS SE Custom 24 sports a Mahogany body, delivering a warm sound with plenty of harmonic richness in the mid-range. Adorned with an amazing Flamed Maple top veneer top that boasts an elegant bevel carve, this instrument's beauty is guaranteed to inspire you to pick it up and play for hours on end.

'Wide Thin' Neck

Joining the body is a bright-sounding Maple neck shaped to PRS' contemporary 'Wide Thin' profile. While the material adds plenty of top-end snap to give notes more immediacy, the unique neck shape provides an incredibly modern and playable feel. The neck also comes topped with a silky-smooth Rosewood fingerboard that offers a luxurious touch under the fingers.

85/15 "S" Pickups

The pickups in this guitar are based on the acclaimed 85/15 humbuckers that have been used in PRS' US-made Core Custom 24 models over the last few years. Paul Reed Smith famously said that these would have been the perfect pickups back in 1985, because they're hot enough to give you all of the punchy high-gain tones you'd ever need! They clean up beautifully too, especially when you the split their coils via the push/pull tone knob.

High-Quality Hardware

Although this particular model may be a part of the affordable SE line, PRS spared no expense when it came to the instrument's hardware appointments. The PRS Patented Molded Tremolo keeps things solid, with its beautifully-machined design offering a comfy feel and a smooth vibrato arm action. At the other end of the guitar you’ll find a set of PRS-designed machine heads that'll keep your tuning super-stable too.

Lovely guitar, feels very nice in your hands and smooth up the neck. Very nice weight and the tone is very pleasing. Seems to sustain notes a long time which is great.
