The Laney Ironheart series are some of the best value high gain amps available right now with gorgeous metal tones and pristine cleans. Sometimes though you can't lug around a big amplifier and you just want something that is small and out of the way. The IRT Pulse is that thing. This small almost pedal sized enclosure is a full featured valve preamp that can be used live, at home or int he studio with ease.
The Brutal Sound
The IRT-Pulse is the high gain preamp in a box with a focused and tight sound that sounds great even with 9 strings and beyond. The simple 2 knob layout may not seem that in depth but with the addition of the Hot, Bright, Dark and EQ switches the IRT-Pulse instantly opens up as a surprisingly versatile preamp.
This high gain sound comes courtesy of the 2x ECC83 powered valve preamp that is based on the full sized ironheart. This is not a solid state or digital emulation of an amplifier this is the real deal with valves running with 300v on internal voltage for optimal performance and power.
You want to practice with your favourite Ironheart amplifier but it is getting late and the neighbors are sure to complain. Just plug in to IRT-Pulse and you can go through the headphone amp into a set of cans or some speakers at home and get the same tone you love without being evicted. You can also plug in your MP3 player of choice into the IRT-Pulse via the Aux mini jack.
In the Studio
It is time to record your guitar parts but again you are limited by how loud your amp can go. Luckily your IRT-Pulse doubles as a USB interface and reamp box in one. Just plug in to your computer via the USB cable and you are ready to record via your favourite DAW on PC or Mac. The best part is that if you have impulse responses of your favourite cabs or cab sim software you love you can turn off the cab in the IRT and just use the one you have.
The reamp one cable reamp box is another really cool feature. Basically you can send any DI guitar signal that you have recorded back out the IRT-Pulse and into your DAW with no extra cables only USB needed. This is amazing if you want to track over time using DI and then go back later to get a consistent tone across all of your guitar tracks.
On The Stage
You need to do a gig that is halfway across the country but you can't get your amp across there easily? Well you could spend a small fortune on renting a van or you can turn up with your trusty IRT-Pulse and go straight into the PA system or house amplifier. It is small enough and light enough to just sit in the pocket of your gigbag, no extra cabinets or anything else needed.
