Product Description

Ibanez have created an iconic body shape with the RG but unforunately its longer scale can mean it is a bit out of reach of smaller players. Enter the RG miKro, a 22.2" scale (rather than 25.5") guitar with a pair of hot pickups making it perfect for young rockers.

Small But Mighty

Even with its smaller scale this guitar still sounds great thanks to its use of a Maple neck with a Rosewood fretboard aswell as a Poplar body that means you still get a full sound when going through your amp.

Ibanez Hardware

On a lot of budget guitars you start to worry when the guitar maker has their own pickups...not with Ibanez. Ibanez are constantly working with some of the best in the world to produce the best pickups at any price point. Everything from the Gio range up has had a lot of thought put into its electronics.

Excellent for small hands. All I changed were the tuners.

Great instrument for serious kids or adults with small hands. The only trouble is, their hands will be even smaller if Ibanez don’t sort out those sharp fret ends!

I played classical guitar for over forty years before I started to go deaf. Went back to my roots - bought an electric and electro-acoustic and hit blues, lead and arranging standards on the acoustic. Then lost the use of my left thumb for a year (God doesn't want me to play guitar - I think he's reserved me for the lyre section). I got use of the thumb back several years ago (I'm now 68!) but muscles had atrophied and I don't have the strength for barrés. Thought I'd try this baby guitar. I just want to play again. So far it's going really well. I've played more in the last couple of weeks than I have in ten years. Left hand span is gradually returning and I think I'm getting a little strength back in the thumb. As to the guitar - little guitar but big sound. Chords at the top end very difficult since it's very cramped but OK up to about the 12th fret. I keep trying the full size guitars and hope I'm going to be able to cope with them. If I do manage to get get back to the 'big boys' I'm not sure sure I'll ever play this one but no matter - if it gets me there it'll have been worth every penny!
