Vintage Aesthetic

Andy Timmons is a man who likes his guitars to have an unexpected design. When most people think Ibanez guitar they see flashy designs and extra strings. The AT100CL on the other hand is simple with alder body, sunburst finish, white pick guard and all maple neck you would not guess this was an Ibanez design. This means no matter what style you play this guitar will fit in.

Modern Sound

Although this guitar has the vintage style it certainly doesn't sound like a vintage guitar. Not to say you can't get cool classic sounds as well but this guitar was made to play loud with a decent amount of gain. Made for the lead playing in mind this DiMarzio pickup combination of a AT-1 in the bridge and The Cruiser pickups in the middle and neck positions you can go from punchy rhythm to smooth solos at a moment's notice without a drop in level.

Although the neck and middle pickups are both single coil shaped these are actually hot mini humbuckers that sound great for both lead and rhythm sound. You get the best of both a single coil and humbucker with these pickups so you can easily achieve some varied and unique sounds.

The AT-1 in the bridge was designed with Andy Timmons with DiMarzio so he could a warm almost vintage like pickup with some extra heat so when you need to turn it up to 11 you can.

In between Feel

When you play this guitar you will notice a mixture of vintage and modern ideals. Although the neck is thin it is big enough to feel comfortable in most players hands. If you have wanted a guitar that is just as speedy as other Ibanez guitars but with a different feel this may be the guitar for you.

If you are coming from a more vintage style guitar you will be happy with the bridge. This guitar features the amazing Wilkinson-Gotoh VSVG Tremolo that has a traditional feel and design but performs as well as modern locking tremolo systems.

With this neck and this bridge you really get that this guitar is the best of modern and traditional designs in a single guitar.
