Product Description

Jimmy Page has used a number of guitars during his illustrious career, but his Tele tone has a mythical reputation. And now, you're able to get those powerful and twangy tones yourself in a Tele design after his own heart!

Traditional Touches

The Jimmy Page Tele perfectly blends vintage specs with the perks of modern construction. It's got a custom-designed "Oval C" shaped Maple neck that you can really wrap your hands around, along with with a traditional 7.25" radius.

Finished in a time-honoured nitrocellulose lacquer, the neck starts off slightly aged but will wear in beautifully over time. This porous finish allows the wood to breathe offering great sustain. Paired with a 2-piece Ash body, this guitar sounds wonderfully bright and resonant!

The pickups are red-hot '59-style Custom Jimmy Page single-coils that will cut through the mix and give you plenty of muscle, whilst still retaining the twang-factor that you'd expect from any old-school Tele.

Top-Loader Bridge

One of the more interesting things about the Jimmy Page Tele is its "Top-Loader" bridge. This means that you can choose to put the strings through the body as you normally would, or through the back of the bridge plate. This gives you less tension and makes the strings easier to bend and control but it also lends itself to those jangly Zep tones.

Here's what Fender say about the Jimmy Page Telecaster

When the opening riff of "Good Times Bad Times" came through the radio in 1969, everything changed. At that moment Jimmy Page cemented his legacy and altered the course of popular music with a single guitar: his Fender Telecaster. The Fender Jimmy Page Mirror Telecaster is a homage to that guitar, which began life in its factory White Blonde lacquer finish, then became the "mirror guitar" before transforming into a one-of-a-kind hand-painted instrument. At each stage in its evolution, this legendary guitar produced some of the most iconic riffs of the 20th Century.

The Jimmy Page Telecaster features a two-piece ash body stripped and hand-painted with Page’s original design – colourful curls of green, orange, yellow, blue and red that snake around the guitar in a serpentine fashion. A pair of Fender® Jimmy Page Custom Tele® single-coil pickups deliver the incendiary, full-bodied tone that inspired the unforgettable licks on Led Zeppelin’s first album. The custom "Thin D"-shaped maple neck has a 7.25”-radius slab rosewood fingerboard with 21 vintage-style frets, giving it a smooth playing feel. The “top-loader” bridge allows for through-body or top-load stringing, which produces a rounder, warmer tone and less tension so you can bend the strings with ease. Other features include a bone nut, vintage-style tuning machines and disc string tree for an authentic style and performance.

Created alongside Page himself, the Jimmy Page Telecaster also boasts personalized touches like a Jimmy Page signature on the headstock and on the custom chrome neck plate, a red coiled cable and a vintage-style “stained glass” strap. About his beloved Telecaster, Jimmy said it best: "I really made it my own – it’s quite a magical guitar."

Picked this up in the January sale for less than it would cost me in Switzerland, even allowing for customs clearance. A quirky and fun Tele to add to the collection.
