Product Description

Who said that Fender had lost its sense of imagination? Well, for those in doubt, the Fender Acoustasonic Tele is something that definitely breaks the mould! Innovative and elegant, this instrument is essentially an electric/acoustic hybrid guitar — built for modern musicians looking for the ultimate expressive tool.

Although the Acoustasonic is based on the classic Tele shape, you'll soon realise that almost every other aspect of this unique guitar goes against Fender's grain. Powered by a revolutionary Fender and Fishman-designed acoustic engine, this instrument allows you to effortlessly change from convincing acoustic sounds to traditional electric rhythm tones on-the-fly.

Limited Edition, FSR Model

Andertons Music Co. has collaborated with Chicago Music Exchange a few times over the last couple of years, bringing you some of their coolest limited edition gear to this side of the pond. We’ve teamed up with the American retailer once again to unveil three Fender FSR Acoustasonic models in a splendid Shell Pink finish — available exclusively between us!

Unique Body Design

The most striking aesthetic feature of the Fender Acoustasonic Tele is its soundhole, placed at the centre of the body. Whereas as other hybrids before have tended to be more in-keeping with the looks of an electric guitar, the Acoustasonic, however, embraces more of the traditional acoustic construction.

With a full hollow body crafted from Mahogany, you can expect rich lows and a bell-like mid-range. Using Fender's 'Stringed Instrument Resonance System' (SIRS), this design helps the Acoustasonic Tele to achieve the response and harmonic breadth of a typical acoustic guitar, where you can feel the vibrations resonating through your body.

Superb Comfort

Unlike most acoustics and the standard Telecaster though, Fender kept playing comfort in mind when designing the Acoustasonic Tele. Adding a comfortable forearm contour, this allows you to strum chords without feeling any pain or fatigue, making it a great live workhorse. Despite the body being hollow, the thin and compact Tele shape remains intact, meaning that electric players will feel particularly at home on this guitar.

Satin-Finished Mahogany Neck

The Acoustasonic's body is paired with a bolt-on Mahogany neck, adding even more tonal depth. Covered in a smooth open-pore Satin Urethane finish and cut to Fender's Modern "Deep C' profile, the playability of this guitar is simply outstanding.

Adorned with a sleek Ebony fingerboard, this material ensures a slippery feel while adding some pristine top-end bite. Fitted with narrow tall frets, these are more akin to the type of frets you'd expect to find on most acoustics. But to keep electric players happy, Fender has ensured that the Acoustasonic Tele has 22 frets, with a sculpted heel providing excellent access to the high register.

Innovative Electronics

Using an electro-acoustic guitar onstage has its issues, where feedback can potentially ruin a set. That's why Fender has sought to eliminate that common problem with the Acoustasonic, utilising its smaller body shape and Fender/Fishman-designed acoustic engine to cut out unwanted noise.

The acoustic engine is a proprietary blend of classic analogue and future technologies, optimising the guitar’s natural sound and modifying the resonance to deliver a curated collection of voices. These acoustic and electric voices can be used independently, or blended via the 'Mod Knob' to create experimental sounds. However, they can also be used simultaneously thanks to Fender's Acoustasonic Noiseless magnetic pickup.

Additional Features

The Fender Acoustasonic Tele's asymmetrical bridge is intonated for optimal balance across the fingerboard, with the high-quality Graph Tech TUSQ pins and nut keeping your tuning rock-solid. It's also worth noting that the Acoustasonic comes with a Deluxe Gig Bag, letting you easily transport it from venue-to-venue.

When looking for a good quality electro acoustic guitar, it isn't always easy finding one that fits all possible needs. Acoustics tend to have a thicker neck in general and so playing for extended periods, or at a gig, are both very enjoyable but also very taxing on your hands. Here comes the Acoustasonic range. Superbly sounding guitars when plugged in as well as just enough resonance and volume to noodle with unplugged. Featuring a thinner neck profile which feels more like an electric guitar, but fitted with acoustic size strings, a cut out hole on the body and superb natural finish, just to remind you that these are an acoustic at heart. There is such a range of acoustic guitar sounds onboard, and you get 2 genuinely good electric tones too from the noiseless pickup! No more needing to now take 2 guitars to a gig or a jam (1x electric, 1x acoustic). These guitars are light, beautifully made, superb sounding, eye-catchingly different and so turn heads. I wish I'd have had one of these when gigging in the past. Some don't like the idea of these guitars and poo poo them, but I can tell you from many years of experience with guitars (35 years), that these hybrid style guitars should not be dismissed. Add one your collection, you'll soon find that they become your go to guitar. Be warned, if you take them for a jam with friends, expect your friends to keep wanting to pick your new Acoustasonic up time and time again as they are a pleasure to play, irresistible Fender.

Great voices. Light guitar and small perfect for anyone older that struggles with lifting heavier guitars. I’m 5ft2 so having a smaller bodied acoustic is so much more comfortable to play. Playing unplugged the sound is still great for practicing. The colour looks great I was a bit worried it would be much brighter than the photos but it works well with the wood.
