ESP LTD SN-1000 FR FM Electric Guitar in Copper Sunburst

If you're a knowledgeable ESP fan, then you'll know that a few of their models are made exclusively for the Japanese market. One of those that was kept off British shores for some time was the Snapper, but over the last few years this guitar has been introduced in full force as part of the LTD 1000-series range.

The ESP LTD SN-1000 model is designed specifically for shredders that want premium modern features combined with traditional aesthetics. And this guitar certainly doesn't hold back, with its active EMG pickups and Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo system.

Construction

The SN-1000 is based on the classic S-type construction. With a bolt-on design, you can expect plenty of snap (hence the name!) and immediacy from notes, while the slightly sculpted heel ensures comfortable access to the upper frets.

A lightweight Basswood body serves as an excellent tonal foundation for the pickups, delivering a balanced response across all key areas of the guitar frequency spectrum; with a resonant peak in the mid-range. Paired with a Maple neck, this material adds some vibrant highs for extra clarity, while the elegant Rosewood fingerboard broadens the low-end and provides a silky smooth feel under the fingers.

Electronics & Hardware

This guitar represents brilliant value-for-money, especially when you consider the high-quality electronics and hardware appointments it features. The most noteworthy of these are the active EMG pickups, which have been a popular choice among hard rock and metal players since the '80s. With a powerful 85 humbucker in the bridge position, you also have two SA single-coils that sound beatifully articulate, particularly with clean amp settings.

The ESP LTD SN-1000 also comes equipped with a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo system, letting you perform crazy dive-bombs and squealies without going out of tune. The recessed design lets you raise the pitch too, enabling other effects like flutters.
