Product Description

The EastCoast ST2 is the ultimate beginner guitar for almost any style of music. The iconic S-style axe was the second electric guitar ever produced and hundreds of brands have put their own twist on the classic design.

Sound

The ST2 has one humbucker and two single-coil pickups - the parts of the guitar that take the sound of the strings and directs it into an amp. The humbucker, which is closest to the bridge of the guitar, produces a thick grunting tone best for rhythm playing. While the single-coils are best for crisp clean sounds and searing solo leads.

There are loads of sounds to explore because you're able to switch between and interchange the pickup combinations. Perfect for players who want to play lots of styles of music.

You might be wondering what the protruding handle is coming out of the bridge. This tremolo or 'whammy' bar as it's commonly known, lets you change the note of the string without moving your left hand. You can get extremely creative with the tremolo.

Looks

Almost every guitarist has played or owned an S-style guitar, be it one suited to blues, folk, jazz or metal. The double-cutaway makes it extremely easy to get your left hand up to the highest of the 22 frets. These are the thin metal bars across the fingerboard. The more you have, the more notes you can play.

I think this would suit a beginner, well set up, Frets do not need sanding or filling , keeps a tune , colours a bit naff, but a Guitar well worth buying

This silver metallic finisg electric guitar is made to a very high quality standard and finish with excellent action plus the powerful humbucker. Only slight downside is vibrato arm only seems to work downwards as baseplate fitted so close to the body and has a heavy spring action to depress which a young starter player may find a bit of a challenge but overall very good value for only £99. The 15W Amp sounds fine more than enough volume for home use. Good value too with the reverb.

A fantastic guitar. I don't play and wasn't too sure what to get my son. His music teacher recomended a couple of brands (not EC) and having had the guitar a month we could not be happier. Today was our sons first lesson since we got it, I was a bit concerned that the tutor may think we had bought a lemon, especially after we went against his advice. I'm pleased to say that we needn't have worried. Our son has really enjoyed playing it. His tutor was also impressed and said that it was way better than the two brands he had previously recommended! He said he would have been thrilled to have had a guitar as good when he was learning 20 years ago and would happily use it in a gig himself. I'm pleased to say that the guitar lives up to it's hype and it looks like I can trust Anderton's youtube reviews in the future.
