    Product Description

Born in NYC’s Little Italy, D’Angelico is widely regarded as one of the finest archtop guitar manufacturers of the 20th century. Nowadays, they make guitars of all shapes and sizes; all built with the same exceptional detail, mastery and flair that put them on the map.

The Premier DC strikes the balance between classic D’Angelico design and contemporary performance. Combining unique D’Angelico design with a classic, familiar semi-hollow config, it’s a workhorse instrument that’ll never fail to turn heads.

    Body & Neck

As the name suggests, the DC is a curvy double-cut semi-hollow that offers solid humbucking tones. The body material is Laminate Maple, offering up plenty of top-end brightness to contrast with the warm semi-hollow sound. Multi-ply cream binding rounds it off with a touch of class.

The Maple neck continues the theme, laying on yet more top-end sparkle. Combined with the semi-hollow configuration and HH pickup setup, you get a warm, clear and versatile sound that’ll suit anything from hard rock to jazz-funk.

    Hardware & Electronics

As mentioned before, twin Duncan-designed HB humbuckers deliver a warm but gutsy snarl, but also clean up beautifully and have plenty of tone on tap regardless of style.

The hardware is chrome from top to bottom, including Rotomatic Stairstep tuners - it’s an undeniably striking instrument. But everything has a purpose; expect fantastic tuning stability, squeaky-clean intonation and reliability across the board.

Love this guitar. It's my first (Semi) hollow body. I tried a few different guitars including Ibanez Artcore and Epihone - but the D'Angelico seemed to have that 'something else' - it's also absolutely gorgeous. My original plan was to go for an Ibanez AM93 - and it was a last minute switch to the larger 335 size/shaped D'Angelico. But I'm so glad I did. The body is large, but fairly slim and is so easy to play. This was one of my original concerns - and the reason I was tending towards the smaller AM93. But after playing this guitar for the last 2 months it is still a joy every time I pick it up. The build quality is great and the detailing immaculate. The colour and design is such a head turner - most people who visit the house never really say anything about my guitars, but this always gets a comment on its looks. The guitar needed a bit of setup work - there was some string buzz from the Low E string, but an adjustment of the bridge resolved it. The overall action is still pretty low and it is one of the easiest playing guitars I have. This could well have been the climate shock of travelling from Indonesia to Northern Ireland. Tone range from the picks ups covers the everything from mellow jazz to rocky driven tones, it rivals my Strat (MIM) as the most versatile guitar (probably beats it to be honest). In terms of value - I think it is such a good quality/cost balance. It feels to me like a more expensive guitar.
