Product Description

During the '60s, the majority of Burns' guitars featured these pickups. With the help of Adrian Turner - highly regarded around the world for his extensive knowledge of all things pickups - the brand have managed to faithfully recreate the original model for modern day players. They come as a set of three.

Classic Engineering

Each of the pickups here are made to the exact specification of the '60s version. They're both hand-made and hand-wired, using the same innovative wiring and accurate value magnets. But why are they called Tri-Sonic? Well, this comes from their wide, triple zone pickup area. This helps to deliver an immediately recognisable sound; it's larger than life, with a tone that's almost reminiscent of bigger humbucker pickups.

Bought them because they're in short supply and I want them for a guitar which is still on my drawing board, and it will probably months before I get to try them out. So I can't comment, other than to say I'm sure they're going to be exactly what I wanted.

The output of the e1 string is somewhat lower than the one of the other strings. However, I could compensate by fitting a small iron cylinder, 2.5 mm high, into the corresponding black hole.

These are korean made BHK pickups, which can be had for less than I spent here. I was looking for the official Tri-Sonics made by Burns w the help of Ade Turner. I bought some of those 4 or 5 years ago and they were great.. nearly as good as the Adeson pickups I used to get. I was expecting those, but got these cheap knock-offs instead. Oh well. Buyer beware, I guess. Speed of delivery WAS amazing, though. Would happily buy again if I could get the real thing. Cheers.
