The Thirty Six (or L36) is Atkin's take on the timeless parlor-style acoustic guitars pioneered in the early 20th Century. With a comfortably compact form factor, classic aesthetics and a hearty sound, the L36 is a wholly enjoyable acoustic playing experience.

Premium Parlour Design

Also referred to as the Parlor guitar (depending where you are in the world), this design is among the smallest of acoustic guitar body shapes. Atkin's L36 is inspired by Gibson's L-00, particularly those from 1936 as the name suggests. The L-00 set the bar for the Parlour design, and it became a pivotal part of American folk and blues music.

Carefully selected torrified Sitka Spruce is used for the top. Combined with their hand-scalloped bracing, it delivers a tight, bouncy tone that's perfect for folky fingerpicking and blues-style flatpicking alike.

Finish & Electronics Options

Atkin offer two types of finish for all of their guitars: aged and mirror finish. Both are nitrocellulose, but as the name suggests, the former has been painstakingly aged for that vintage vibe. It's also worth noting that while none of the Atkins come with built-in electronics, we'll happily fit some for you. The recommended systems are as follows:

Handmade in Britain

Based in Canterbury, UK, Atkin Guitars proudly offer a range of stunning hand-built acoustic guitars. Their highly-acclaimed instruments are widely considered some of the best on the market, and come with a certificate of authenticity and a lifetime warranty.

Founded in 1995 by Alister Atkin, the aim of the game is uncompromising tone. While all of Atkin’s instruments are handmade, they aren’t afraid to experiment with modern technology. This combination of traditional luthiery and an open-minded approach yields the same results time after time; the ultimate acoustic guitar experience.

As well as their core line, Atkin offer custom builds and are happy to take requests. If you've got any questions about tweaks to your Atkin acoustic, please get in touch with us.
