The Essential OOO embodies the Atkin Guitars approach to luthiery. This compact yet undeniably beautiful instrument combines stunning vintage aesthetics with mesmerising tone – the result is one of the best acoustic guitars you’ll ever play!
Premium OM Design
For the Essential OOO, Atkin took the OM design and reworked it with a lower bout and shorter scale length (24.9” to be precise). The smaller body and shorter neck results in a warm, folky tone reminiscent of the American instruments of old. As the name suggests, this is the pure essence of the OOO-style acoustic.
The classic Sitka Spruce and Mahogany combo, combined with the compact body, gives you a warm, dynamic response with a little more focus on the midrange than booming dreadnought guitars. That said, there’s no shortage of bass or projection, and the high frequencies sparkle with brilliant clarity thanks to the Ebony fretboard and bridge. Additional appointments like a larger top dome and Atkin’s pre-war scalloped bracing gives the Essential OOO a unique edge.
Finish & Electronics Options
Atkin offer two types of finish for all of their guitars: aged and mirror finish. Both are nitrocellulose, but as the name suggests, the former has been painstakingly aged for that vintage vibe. It's also worth noting that while none of the Atkins come with built-in electronics, we'll happily fit some for you. The recommended systems are as follows:
