Product Description

While the original 6505 was a metal powerhouse loved by many for some it lacked the depth of controls needed to cover a wider range of tones. The 6505+ expands on the classic with more control but the same classic tone that has appeared on so many rock and metal albums.

What Is New

The 6505+ really wants to give you everything you need to get anything from crystal cleans to crushing high gain and anything in between. So to improve on the original circuit they introduced a second 3 band EQ so you have a dedicated controls for each channel and a second power amp control section.

The resonance and Presence controls are part of what made the 6505 so successful so introducing another set so each channel can be set up differently. No longer do you have to deal with bright and brittle clean channel because you want your low tuned guitar to cut through the mix.

Low Tunings

The 6505+ is well known for its bright and heavily saturated guitar tones that lets it cut through any mix with a harsh and powerful sound. It along with a particular tread plate covered amplifier became the go to amps for any hard rock and metal bands across the globe.

One of the things that made the Peavey so popular is how clear it sounds when used with downtuned and extended range guitars. On most amps when you go below a low 'C' they start to sound flabby and un-precise. But the Peavey kept clear due to its Resonance and Presence controls which were dialed in to work really well even at very low frequencies.

Gig Ready

A big reason people love the 6505+ and the 6505 is just how loud they are. This is not an amp for your bedroom as with 120w of all valve power coming from a quad of 6L6 power amp tubes this is made for live use. Just plug this amp in to your 2x12 or 4x12 cab of choice and you are ready to rock any size stage...most of the time without needing a mic.

All of the tonal aspects that made them such a good studio amp translate incredibly well to the stage as well. Not many amps can claim to have the same tight low end and incredible cutting saturation that the 6505 does and that is why metal players love it.

Built Like A Tank

Peavey gear is known for lasting a long time and lot of that reputation comes from the 6505. These have been on tour all around the world with every kind of band imaginable and the reason these keep getting used is the absolutely incredible tone as well as the fact that they survive. You will very rarely see any 6505 amps fail on your so you know that this will take everything you can throw at it.
